We get hundreds (and sometimes thousands!) of inquiries each month related specifically to breast augmentation, and that's no surprise! Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures worldwide. A lot of patients are intrigued by the idea of being able to achieve the shape or size of breasts that they've always dreamed of, but there's a lot that they don't understand about the procedure.
Today we're answering the most common questions related to breast augmentation, so let's dive in!
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure that uses saline or silicone implants to improve the shape, size, and volume of the patient's breasts. Whether it's because the patient feels as if their boobs are misshapen, unbalanced, or small - a breast augmentation can help patients achieve their desired look.
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure, and just like any other surgical procedure, we want to make sure that it's appropriate and safe for the patient to undergo. Patients should be in good health, have realistic expectations about their results, and have breasts that are fully developed. A few things that make a great breast augmentation candidate are:
Small breasts
Asymmetrical breasts
Sagging breasts
Breast changes after weight loss, pregnancy, or as a result of aging
Feelings of unhappiness about your breast' appearance
When it comes to breast augmentation, patients have two options regarding the type of implant that they're going to get: saline implants or silicone implants. If you're interested in learning about the differences between silicone and saline, we've got a great blog covering saline vs. silicone implants. During your initial breast augmentation consultation, your plastic surgeon will help you determine which type of implant is best for your goals!
Fat transfer to the breast is a great option for patients who want a moderate increase (about 150CC or one cup size) in their breast size and do not wish to have implants. This option essentially uses liposuction to take fat from other areas of your body (stomach, love handles, thighs, etc) and inject it into the breasts. Many patients love this idea because you're not only increasing the size and fullness of your breasts, but also targeting stubborn fat and contouring your figure at the same time.

The great thing about breast augmentation surgery is that the recovery process is much less intense than the recovery for some of our other procedures! Patients typically require about 1 week off of work and cannot lift anything above 5lbs for 2-3 weeks. It is imperative that patients wear a support bra for 1-2 weeks after their surgery and follow any instructions given to them by our plastic surgery team, but in general breast augmentation recovery is a relatively easy process.
Prices can vary based on the area you're located, the expertise of your surgeon, the type of implants you're getting, and the details of your specific procedure. To unlock our pricing, fill out our online form here.
