A Neck Lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure that serves to improve the visible signs of aging along the jawline and neck area. This treatment focuses on addressing excess fat and sagging skin that contribute to the development of jowls, ultimately rejuvenating the patient's appearance with a more youthful and well-defined jawline. Additionally, the procedure removes fatty deposits beneath the chin as well as any muscle banding in the neck to create natural and harmonious contours. Choose our Orlando neck lift performed by one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.
Ideal Candidates
Plastic surgery should always be a personal decision that is not influenced by the opinions of others. If you'd like to find out if you'd make a good candidate for a neck lift Orlando plastic surgeons at Vado Plastic Surgery can address that and any other questions you have during your consultation. Patients must be in good health to be considered for this procedure. If you identify with any of the following, then you may be a good candidate for a neck lift:
During a Neck Tuck (platysmaplasty), the surgeon will make a small incision under the chin where the platysma muscle is found. From the incision, the muscle is tightened, the excess skin removed, and the incision sutured. Surgery time is about 2.5-3 hours and the scarring is minimal, with only a small, horizontal line under the chin. During a Lower Facelift (lower rhytidectomy), the surgeon will make a small incision under the chin for the tightening of the neck muscles, and an incision before each ear for treating the jawline. From the incision in front of the ears, the muscles of the jawline are lifted and the excess fat is removed. Surgery time is about 5 hours and the scarring is also very minimal.
Neck Tuck: A Neck Tuck, or a platysmaplasty, only addresses the bands in the neck that tend to hang and make the neck look like it is sagging and stretched. The procedure works by tightening the muscles in the neck to reduce the look of "banding."
Lower Facelift: A Lower Facelift, or lower rhytidectomy, removes the excess fat or loose skin around the jawline, and also addresses the banding and loose skin around the neck. This procedure is a bit more extensive and takes a few more hours to complete.
